American Advertising Federation of Tallahassee Announces
its 2011 Community Service Recipient
Florida Disabled Outdoors Association Selected as This Year’s Winner
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Members of the American Advertising Federation of Tallahassee (AAFT) voted and chose the Florida Disabled Outdoors Association as this year’s worthy recipient of its annual community service program. Each year, the Advertising Federation’s Community Service Committee selects a worthy non-profit agency from nominees in the Tallahassee area that need marketing and public relations assistance to bring greater attention to a program or cause.
This year’s choice, the Florida Disabled Outdoors Association (FDOA), founded by President David C. Jones, is a 501(c)(3) organization working to ensure people with disabilities have access to inclusive recreation and outdoor activities. Since its inception in 1990, the FDOA has promoted accessible recreation to persons with disabilities as well as the general public through special events, newsletters and community education.
“We evaluated several local non-profit organizations, and the Florida Disabled Outdoors Association really stood out above the rest,” said AAF Tallahassee President Lynsie Slachetka. “We are so thrilled to be working with David and his team on such a worthy cause.”
AAFT members will be donating their skills and resources on a voluntary basis to assist the Florida Disabled Outdoors Association with its marketing and public relations so that it can generate the exposure it needs to survive and continue to be of value to the community and the individuals it serves. Comprised of media, marketing and advertising professionals, the resources of AAF Tallahassee cover every facet of the advertising industry.
