Job Description:

  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to new and existing customers in order to sell new advertising programs, and to protect and increase existing advertising.
  • Explain to customers how specific types of advertising will help promote their products or services in the most effective way possible.
  • Maintain assigned account bases while developing new accounts.
  • Process all correspondence and paperwork related to accounts.
  • Deliver advertising or proofs to customers for approval.
  • Draw up contracts for advertising work, and collect payments due.
  • Locate and contact potential clients in order to offer advertising services.
  • Provide clients with estimates of the costs of advertising products or services.
  • Recommend appropriate sizes and formats for advertising, depending on medium being used.
  • Inform customers of available options for advertisement artwork, and provide samples.
  • Obtain and study information about clients’ products, needs, problems, advertising history, and business practices in order to offer effective sales presentations and appropriate product assistance.
  • Determine advertising network to be used, and prepare sample advertisements within the selected network for presentation to customers.
  • Consult with company officials, sales departments, and advertising agencies in order to develop promotional plans.
  • Prepare promotional plans, sales literature, media kits, and sales contracts, using computer.
  • Identify new advertising markets, and propose products to serve them.
  • Write copy as part of layout.
  • Attend sales meetings, industry trade shows, and training seminars in order to gather information, promote products, expand network of contacts, and increase knowledge.
  • Gather all relevant material for bid processes, and coordinate bidding and contract approval.

Website Developer and Designer at FSU Alumni Association

Responsibilities
The position’s primary responsibility is to maintain The Florida State University Alumni Association’s online presence through its website(s), electronic communications and other web platforms. The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

·        Oversees website design and development as well as content development; creates, updates and maintains web pages on a daily basis using a content management system (Blackbaud NetCommunity).
·        Manages the distribution of all mass electronic communications
·        Coordinates web projects with Alumni Association staff members; supports marketing and promotional efforts for membership, business development, special events and alumni programs via electronic communications and inclusion on the association’s website(s).
·        Leads web projects by communicating project requirements, priorities and schedules to all involved parties.
·        Develops and implements strategies for best online communications practices; works with association staff to build integrated and strategic online relationships with external audiences
·        Assists with regular data requests.
·        Assists in the development of statistical reports to evaluate alumni communications and services; provides analytics, usage and marketing reports on all aspects of the association’s online communications; analyzes web statistics.

Qualifications:
·        A Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline is preferred for this position; work experience may substitute for education with a minimum of two to five years of professional experience in online content creation, website editing and production in a fast-paced, multifaceted organization
·        Expertise in the use of a computer
·        Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Dream Weaver, Flash, Illustrator and Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
·        Experience with HTML/XHTML and CSS
·        Familiarity with major browsers (IE, Firefox, Safari and Chrome) and ability to ensure compatibility of all online content among popular web browsers
·        Ability to ensure cross-platform compatibility and exchange between Macintosh and Windows computers
·        Experience in writing, editing and proofreading for the web
·        Experience working in content management systems
·        Practical knowledge of graphic, audio, video and text file formats and their proper application and use
·        Ability to create and optimize graphics, multimedia content and computer files for online media
·        Strong organization skills and attention to detail a must

Preferred Skills
Preferred skills in JavaScript, Google Analytics and proficiency with various types of social media; knowledge and experience with Web 2.0 tools, strategies and tactics; experience in Blackbaud NetCommunity (BBNC) a plus.

Gates That Open, LLC is seeking an experienced Technical Illustrator/Writer to support product documentation projects. In this position, a qualified candidate will be responsible for creating marketing and technical materials for online and print publications; converting engineering and technical information into easy to understand documentation.  The selected candidate will create two and three-dimensional line drawings of products; combine visual information and text into User Manuals and Guides, Tutorial/Training Materials, Installation Manuals and Quick Start Guides for the Do-It-Yourself and professional audience.

Any candidate to be considered is required to have:
·       3-5 years experience in computer-based design, 3D concepts, illustrating, graphic design and page layout

·       Knowledge of technical drawing methods, such as translating 2D images into 3Dviews, creating vector illustrations from raster images

·       Excellent oral and written English skills; sound knowledge of grammar, syntax, punctuation

·       Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, work under pressure, handle multiple assignments simultaneously with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

·       Expert-level abilities in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design, and Acrobat on MAC platform

·       CAD and SolidWorks experience are preferred but not required
